EMPHASISING WOMEN IN LITERATURE

The 16th Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF), which will take place from January 19 to January 23 at the Hotel Clarks Amer in Jaipur, includes a variety of women writers and their outstanding works. Authors Shaili Chopra, Minnie Vaid, and former IFS officer and Ambassador Lakshmi Puri spoke in a session titled “Women and Work” alongside Susan Ferguson, the UN Women Country Representative.

This panel of female experts from various backgrounds talked about the reasons for and effects of the obstacles that have stood in the way of working women’s careers in the past, present, and future. Katy Hessel, an art historian and curator, is developing a remedy to end the lengthy dominance of males in the art world.

In combination with her blog, The Great Women Artists, The Story of Art Without Men revives the heritage of women artists from the 1500s to the 21st century, encompassing key moments in art history such as dadaism, civil rights, and antiracism.
