EMBRACING HER INNER FIGHTER

City First brings to you a soulful and confident diva Taruna Thappa and her inspiring journey.

Tell us something about yourself. I am Taruna Thapa, a Chandigarh native who competed in the First Miss India pageant and was crowned as a Top 15 finalist as well as a Subtitle winner, MISS CONFIDENT. I am grateful to Gaurav Gaur for his immense support. I’m 23 years old and work as a Nursing officer by profession and a model by passion.

Where do you see yourself after 5 years? Every day, I envision myself achieving the objectives and ambitions that I perceive. When it comes to my objectives and ambitions, I’ve always wanted to be completely selfsufficient, and by that, I mean financially independent.

How did your journey begin? My journey began when I auditioned for MISS NORTH INDIA PRINCESS 2018, a pageant in which I represented my hometown of Chandigarh but was unable to win. Following that, I worked with a variety of brands and was able to pursue my ambitions.

What were some of the battles you fought and are still fighting in your journey? As a medical professional, you must remain focused on your objective. Managing my schoolwork with my goals was not always easy. Modelling as a vocation may appear to be simple, but it is timeconsuming and demands a significant amount of effort. I occasionally have to put my academics on hold to attend events and runway fashion shows. I was able to balance my schoolwork with my desire to be a successful model over time. The best thing is that my family was always there to encourage me and always had my back during my difficult moments.

Talk to us about your achievements? I must claim that I have accomplished a great deal on my voyage. I’ve worked with several well-known businesses as well as prominent fashion designers. I still feel there is much to be accomplished and that many obstacles must be overcome, but as they say, self-confidence is a superpower. The magic begins to happen as you begin to believe in yourself.
