Embracing Culture in Fashion

Cultural fashion gets inspiration from one’s heritage and upbringing. Clothing and accessories falling under the category of cultural fashion evoke a sense of nostalgia while showing off pride for a rich culture. Miss Teen Diva, an international-level beauty pageant, organised a National Costume Round, as a part of their talent rounds, for the top 35 finalists on Wednesday at Zee Studios, Jaipur.

Jagdeesh Chandra graced the occasion as the special guest and while appreciating the rich traditions and culture along with fashion and glamour as a perfect amalgamation, he also congratulated Nikhil Anand, National Director, Glamanand Group and his team for the flawless training and grooming session given to the supermodels.

During the fashion show, contestants were judged based on aesthetics, individuality and the cultural twist to their outfits. Each contestant was given a chance to model their outfit and then answer various questions. These questions addressed the cultural inspiration for each contestant’s outfit, why they believed their attire stood out to the audience and the outfit’s overall significance.

The beauties turned up in costumes that were carefully curated, bespoke outfits which best represented their nation. While some wore the national costume inspired by the ethereal portrayal of India as the golden bird which is a symbol of the wealth of our rich cultural heritage along with the spiritual essence of living in harmony with diversity, some were seen gracefully dressed up in spiritual powers.

Jury Panel consisted of Brunda yerra Bali, Rabia Hora, Mannat Siwach, Mahika Biyani, Divija Gambhir, Asmita Chakraborty, Praachi Nagpal and Aishwarya Vinu Nai.

Aayushi Dholakia, reigning Miss Teen International and host for the evening won the hearts of everyone present on the occasion and crowned the beauties. Various who’s who of the city also graced the occasion with their presence.
