DEV ANAND... ZARURI HAI !

In a world of style, music and romance how can Dev Anand not be necessary? Dharamdev’s own list Pishorimal Anand (26 September 1923 – 3 December 2011 left his mark on cinema as an Indian actor, writer, director and producer through a career that spanned over six decades. Dev Anand will be remembered for his charm, the hairstyle copied across, his sloping rambling walk, dialogue delivery and perhaps most of all for his spirit and the joie de reverie!

Dev sahab was not a master of the fight sequences, fighting with droll humour in most cases with rolling punches similar to his style on-screen but he was the master of romance and wooing his co-stars and the songs are legendary which still tug at the heartstrings.

We all have our list of favourite songs of Dev Anand and what better way to spend the weekend than tuning in to these romantic songs on your music app as you soak in the raindrops into your very soul?

My all-time favourite remains Din Dhal jaaye from Guide, for me, it is the epitome of love which tears the lovers apart… love is not enough, is it? It is the perfect song to listen to, on loop as you unravel the mysteries of your own love story. Chhod do Aanchal from Paying Guest with Nutan is another one close to my heart as is Dheere Dheere chal from Love Marriage with Mala Sinha. Another classic is Abhi na jao chhod ke with Sadhana from the classic movie Hum Dono, which is a forever love song for the parting lovers. Tujhe Jeevan Ki Dor from Asli Naqli again with Sadhana is so hummable and so is the lilting Likha Hai Teri Aankhon Mein from Teen Deviyan with Nanda.

Gaata Rahe Mera Dil another one from Guide with Waheeda is as evergreen as the stars themselves. Just watch Dev Anand wooing the beauties and you cannot but fall in love with him and with the idea of love…just a little.
Pyaar zaruri hai aur Dev Anand bhi!
