ARMY PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS UNDERTAKE HERITAGE WALK
The Army Public School Mumbai conducted a Heritage Walk from Colaba Military station to the iconic Gateway of India on Friday, February 17 2023 to commemorate 75 years of Independence as part of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
The Heritage Walk commenced in the morning from Army Public School at Colaba with 120 students accompanied by their teachers and Principal Lakshmi Madhuri Chatti. During the walk, the students displayed placards advocating messages to protect our heritage, follow green practices for the protection of the environment, and various other social causes to create awareness amongst the citizens.
On completion of the heritage walk at Gateway of India, a vibrant cultural program showcasing our cultural heritage was put up for the students. The program began with the release of tricolour balloons by Lt Col Sandeep Legha and the Principal of APS. The program culminated with the singing of the National Anthem.
The Heritage walk was indeed an enthralling experience for the students. It highlighted the important historic role and character of the city to the students and also generated interest and involvement of the local community in the urban conservation activity.
