TIPS TO IDENTIFY FAKE JOURNALS!

Researchers have to face a lot of difficulties in the publication of research works. Especially people doing PhD or other equivalent degrees have to make a lot of effort for publication of research papers. It is easy to select research journals for publication, but it is difficult to find out the reality of those journals, in such a situation, scholars get their research papers published in cloned and fake journals, which are later declared invalid.

On the topics related to the identification and publication of cloned journals across the country, Dr Sumit Narula, Director of the School of Communication, Amity University, Gwalior and Chief Editor of Journal of Content, Community and Communication, while addressing the researchers at the institutes of the country and abroad, gave information about the identification of such journals. Apart from media education, Narula has also informed scholars and teachers through webinars and seminars about research journals on subjects such as medical. Due to the lack of information in them, researchers get their research papers published, due to which research is not getting encouragement.

On the other hand, quality journals also do not get suitable readers. He said that many journals get the original research printed in fake research journals by charging big money from the researchers. For which the researcher has to bear the damages, apart from this, such published research is of no use in the academic field.

The tradition of printing research papers without quality is increasing nowadays. Dr Narula has disseminated information to people through webinars in higher educational institutions across the country to identify ‘clone, fake and periodic journals’ so that the research work of the researchers can be published in better quality research journals.

FRAUD BY FAKE ONLINE JOURNALS
According to Dr Narula, nowadays the trend of online journals has increased a lot. The researcher is guaranteed to get the publication in these journals within a day or two, due to which fraud has started happening. Researchers waste their money and time by falling prey to such fake journals. After publication, when the researcher claims for promotion, it is found that the journal was cloned. The most important thing is that nowadays people are being cheated by making a clone of the Scopus website. In such a situation, many times the ID page of the clone journal does not open even after searching on the Scopus website. There are people from many fake agencies on such websites, with whom they have nothing to do.
