CHARISMA OF RAJ KAPOOR

The press conference for the movie ‘Main Raj Kapoor Ho Gaya’ took place at Hotel Lalit on Sunday, in which actor and director Manav Sohal and actress Shravani Goswami shared insights about their film. During the interaction, Manav Sohal shared that his new film “Main Raj Kapoor Ho Gaya” is a tribute to Bollywood’s first show Main Raj Kapoor. The film is woven around the life of a Raj Kapoor junkie who lives in a chawl in Mumbai. He likes Raj Kapoor’s films, the characters he played and the songs and dialogues of his films. He calls himself Raj Kapoor and lives in his get-up.” He also informed that he is a big fan of Raj Kapoor Saheb and this movie is a token of tribute to him. When asked about his views on the significance of idol-fans relationship in society, the multitalented actor replied “This parasocial relationship can either be beneficial or detrimental to the life of both the fan and artist. As far as I believe this relationship is pure and they influence the lives of their fans, but they’re always good role models to look up to. Sometimes celebrities can even be better role models than parents or teachers because they’re constantly being branded and they can use their fame to draw attention to issues or causes they believe in.” Shravani Goswami played the role of a Marathi maid in this film. Talking about his character, the film also shows the lives of those living in a chawl. The film is coming to theatres on February 17.
