Zonal Dy Commissioner, EO given authority to issue freehold pattas

Jaipur: The Government has implemented a new system for speedy disposal of cases of freehold leases in the urban bodies of the State.

Zone Deputy Commissioners in municipal corporations, Commissioners and executive officers in Nagar Parishads and Nagar Palikas will be authorized to issue freehold pattas.

Recently, in a review meeting, it was assessed that files are getting delayed due to the compulsion of signature of the local body head. After the feedback, the local self-government department recently issued orders and removed the condition of the signature of the local body head to issue freehold pattas in lieu of already issued leasehold pattas.

Under the PSKS campaign, the State Government has offered the facility of getting the patta converted from leasehold to freehold for Rs 500 but disposal of applications is taking longer time therefore the government has made certain changes in the process of the disposal so that maximum number of freehold pattas could be issued.

Leasehold pattas are issued for a period of 99 years and freehold patta can be obtained by depositing an additional amount.
