Youth must make India a leader in sports: Birla

Jaipur: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Sunday felicitated the sports persons taking part in the ongoing Open Taekwondo Competition at SMS Stadium. While addressing the gathering, Om Birla said that India has progressed rapidly in the world of sports in the last few years and has also achieved many achievements, but we are still far from the goal of becoming a leader in every sport. “Our youths have the capability to take India to new horizons. For this, it is necessary that they are provided with opportunities to enhance their talents. For this we need to make collective efforts,” said Speaker Om Birla.

During his visit to Jaipur, Birla also reached the memorial of former Vice Prez Bhairon Singh Shekhawat in Vidyadhar Nagar. After paying respects at his memorial, Birla said that he was a people’s leader and a great leader, he had an incomparable contribution for Rajasthan.
