Woman Commits Suicide by Hanging, Father Suspects Murder

Jaipur: In the Jhotwara police station area, a woman committed suicide by hanging herself to death. After conducting a postmortem, the police handed over the body to the family. The father of the victim has expressed suspicion of murder and demanded an investigation. The father has alleged that Jyoti’s mother-in-law and husband used to harass his daughter, Jyoti Dadhich regularly.

In a previous altercation with her mother-in-law, Jyoti’s finger was injured, for which she was treated at SMS Trauma Center. Her father stated that despite the mistreatment, Jyoti refrained from taking action, citing her concern for her son and daughter. Jyoti, was a resident of Jhotwara. Her father, Narendra Kumar Sharma, who lives in Deenanathji's Lane, Chandpole Bazaar, said that Jyoti had come home on Monday for a meal on the occasion of her mother’s memorial. Around 9:20 PM, she returned to her in-laws' house. Shortly after, an argument broke out between Jyoti, her mother-in-law, and her husband. At 11:30 PM, one of her relatives called Narendra's younger brother Dinesh Sharma, informing him that Jyoti had hanged herself and that they were at SMS Hospital. Upon getting the news, the family rushed to the hospital only to find that Jyoti had already passed away.

According to the family, Jyoti’s husband, Harikishan Tiwari, suspected her character. He had even taken away her phone and frequently harassed her with accusations. Jyoti worked at a private firm to support herself, but she received no financial help from her husband, who continuously leveled accusations against her.

The family has lodged a complaint with the local police station.
