With 2.13 cr plantation on Teej, Raj applies for Guinness Book record

Jaipur: A record was created in Rajasthan on the occasion of Hariyali Teej on August 7 as 2.13 crore saplings were planted on this day under the ‘Ek ped maa ke naam’ campaign. A total of 34 lakh 2875 saplings were planted under MNREGA. The forest department planted 64 lakh 55,041 saplings, the education department 85 lakh 37,126 saplings and others planted 17 lakh 36,464 saplings.

Plans are to get this registered in the Guinness Book of World Records. Besides, migrant Rajasthanis planted saplings in countries like America, Russia and France.
