Will the DoP continue to ‘stifle’ bureaucratic working in State?

Jaipur: It has been decided that DoP has only one medicine for every problem - An additional charge. As soon as a post becomes vacant, to avoid the hassle of permanent posting on that post, it immediately takes the support of an additional charge. Because this is what DoP finds convenient and comfortable for addressing the issue. On Friday, 4 IAS officers retired together and DoP did not delay in handing over the charge of all four posts to other IAS officers. Now the list of additional charges has increased from 20 to 25.

Bhanwar Lal Mehra’s (Divisional Commissioner- Jodhpur) charge has been given to Pratibha Singh (Divisional Commissioner- Pali), Rajendra Bhatt’s (Divisional Commissioner- Udaipur) charge has been given to Pragya Kewalramani (Commissioner - TAD Udaipur), Rajendra Bhatt’s additional charge (MD - RSMM, Udaipur) has been given to Bhagwati Prasad Kalal (Director- Mines), Mohan Lal Yadav’s (Secretary- W & CD) charge has been given to Suchi Tyagi (Secretary- Cooperative), and Chitra Gupta’s (Special Secretary- School Education) charge has been given to Vishv Mohan Sharma (CommissionerMid Day Meal).

FIRST INDIA had already expressed the possibility that all four posts will be given additional charge. Anyway, both CM and CS have gone to Mumbai on Thursday for a two-day trip for the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ event. There was no chance of any transfer list including these posts. Thus, no IAS transfer list is expected amid recent developments.

Rajasthan State Mines & Mineral Corporation Limited, Udaipur was once the top corporation of state govt. It also used to give a lot of income to the government treasury. The previous Congress govt behaved irresponsibly with this corporation which has a turnover of crores of rupees. A total of 11 MDs were changed here during 5 years. Eight times additional charge of MD has been given to other officers. Knowledgeable people are considering this as an injustice to Corporation. The post of Secretary W & CD has been controversial in recent years. Here also 3 Secretaries were shuffled in 2 years. New additional charge is challenging for Suchi Tyagi. Now in September, another IAS, Sanwar Mal Verma (Divisional Commissioner- Bharatpur) will retire. It can’t be said whether the transfer list will come at all.
