WHO, WHERE, WHY: THE INTRICATE DETAILS BEHIND IAS TRANSFERS!

Jaipur: Leaving aside its tradition of releasing transfer lists late in the night, DoP on Monday released IAS list which was being awaited for a long time. The transfer list has not meddled with ACS, Principal Secretary and Secretary level officers. In Monday’s transfer list, Prakash Rajpurohit has been posted as Jaipur Collector, Nakate Shiv Prasad as RIICO MD, Jitendra Kumar Soni as Alwar Collector, Vishram Meena as Commissioner JMC Heritage and Pradeep K gavande as MD- RSMM.

Similarly, removal of Sandesh naik from IT, Kailash Chand Meena from Home, Veena Pradhan from RAJSICO and Renu Jaipal from Bundi Collector’s post is also notable. The non-removal of Udaipur and Jodhpur Collectors is also a mjor ‘talk of the town’, specially since in the IPS transfer list, senior officials from both these cities have been removed. In the previous IAS transfer list, Prakash Rajpurohit was a contender for the post of Jaipur Collector and then Rajan Vishal was posted instead. But Rajpurohit was accorded a major position of Excise Commissioner and now as the time came, Rajpurohit was placed on the spot.

First India has said on June 27 that only a dynamic officer, who could walk shoulder to shoulder with RIICO Chairman Kuldeep Ranka, would be posted as RIICO-MD and Nakate S Madan’s appointment stresses on that aspect and it is said that he is the Chairman’s choice. A 2006 batch senior IAS Kailash Chand Meena has been sent out of the important positioning as Secretary -Home. Riots and arson have happened in Karauli, Jodhpur, Bhilwara and Udaipur while he was at seat and perhaps that is why he has been removed. But as of now, no new appointment has been done on this post. The state government has expressed its displeasure towards Veena Pradhan, Prateebha Singh, Renu Jaipal, Rashmi Gupta and Maneesha Arora by according them a lacklustre and ‘coldbag’ posting, and this too has become a hot topic of discussion in bureaucratic circles. Since the very first day, appointment in Panchayati Raj did not go well with Om Prakash Kasera and after running from pillar to post, he got himself transferred out of the department. The tradition of posting young IAS, serving as JS in DoP, to District Collector’s post has been carried out this time too, however this time around, Ravindra Goswami has had to work two years for the posting!

It is also being said that Sandesh Nayak had to face the brunt of being extremely active on social media. He was accorded two important positions of Commissioner and MD of RajComp and he was handling the department since October 2021, but the state government became so miffed with him that he has now been posted as Director, Swach Bharat Mission, considered a cold posting. Handing additional charge of NRHM to Prithviraj, Jal Jeevan Mission to Kumar Pal Gautam, Civil Aviation of Jitendra Upadhyay is beyond comprehension since these officers were unable to carry out their current responsibilities properly. It is believed that another major list of IAS officers may come at the end of July when Suresh Gupta and Arushi Malik leave and it is possible that by then Sudhansh pant and Sandeep Verma too get their call from Delhi.
