Wear seat belts in rear also, dept issues order

Jaipur: Passengers sitting in the back seat of cars will also have to wear a seat belt. After the order of the Ministry of Road and Transport, the Transport Department issued orders on Tuesday. According to the order, as per Rule 125(1)(a) of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, in M-1 class vehicles (maximum eight seater passenger vehicles other than the driver) in addition to the front seat, it is mandatory for passengers in rear seat to wear seat belts. A fine of Rs 1,000 will be imposed, under the Central Motor Vehicles Rules (CMVR), if passenger do not wear seat belts in rear.
