Voters cross 5 crore mark; 576 transgenders

Jaipur: Due to continuous updation of voter lists, there are now 5 crore 18 lakh 77 thousand 335 voters in Rajasthan. Of these, 2 crore 70 lakh 67 thousand 976 are male and 2 crore 48 lakh 8 thousand 783 are female voters. The result of continuous cluster camps and campaigns is that now the number of transgenders has increased to 576.

As per the schedule of the Election Commission of India, the short revision program of voter lists is going on till Oct 4. Jaipur has maximum 49 lakh 55 thousand 431 voters with 77 transgenders. Jaipur has maximum 23 lakh 60 thousand 923 women voters. Bundi has minimum of 3 transgender voters. Jaisalmer has least number of 4 lakh 65 thousand 416. Names can be added to the voter list till ten days before the end of assembly polls, said Praveen Gupta, Chief Electoral Officer.
