VKI case: 150 people relocated

Jaipur: The administration was on alert in Vishwakarma Industrial area’s Harmara after the death of three people in the basement of a house on Road No. 17 and got about 10 to 15 houses vacated in the vicinity. Temporary residences have been built in a government school located in Akeda Dungar. About 150 people, including women, men and children were shifted to the school.

The municipal corporation made food and drinking water arrangements. Local councillor Sumit Mishra got all the people medically examined by a team of doctors. Meanwhile, Diya Kumari monitored the entire matter.

In response to the incident, the Rajasthan Human Rights Commission has taken suo moto cognizance of the matter. Commission Chairperson Justice GR Moolchandani described the incident as “heart-wrenching” and labeled water logging situation in the city as a violation of human rights. The Commission has demanded a detailed report.
