VAT on jet fuel reduced to 2%

Jaipur: Following the budget announcement of CM Ashok Gehlot, air connectivity is likely to be increased from Jaipur International Airport. The VAT duty on aviation turbine fuel has been reduced, which as a result, is likely to increase air connectivity from Jaipur. The VAT duty on turbine fuel has been brought down from 26 percent to 2 percent.

Sources informed that nearly half-a-dozen new flights can be started from the upcoming summer schedule that will be applicable from March 26. “As of now, airlines have to pay 26% VAT on fuel. The VAT will now be only 2% from April 1. Commercial airlines will benefit from such a low VAT and airlines will be encouraged to start new flights to different cities from here,” source said.
