Vasudev Devnani miffed over hefty power bill of Vidhan Sabha
Jaipur: Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani has said that solar panels will soon be installed in the MLA housing complex. He said that this will reduce the MLA housing complex’s dependence on the electricity coming from the grid of the power distribution companies and the MLA housing complex will get relief in the government’s electricity expenditure.
Devnani expressed concern over the high electricity bills received in the Rajasthan Assembly in the past days and said that these electricity bills should be investigated in detail and the responsibility of the concerned officer should also be fixed. He directed to make a strong system of monitoring electricity expenditure in future.
Notably, the electricity bill of the Vidhan Sabha has come to Rs 8,00,000 more than the average and reportedly the reason behind this is the negligence in the load maintenance of the Vidhan Sabha. Regarding this, the Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha has given a strict warning to the concerned officials and has also ordered an inquiry.
The Assembly Speaker also directed the officials to increase the capacity of solar energy in the Assembly. “Due to the production of electricity from solar energy, the Assembly and the MLA housing complex will be able to become self-sufficient in the field of energy,” he said and also discussed power factor with the officials.
