Urged to increase Centre’s share in JJM in the interest of State: CM

Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Wednesday directed the District Collectors to get JJM’s progress regularly monitored by ADM level officers. “The work being done under Jal Jeevan Mission should be inspected in the field so that the situation is clear about the actual work and actual situation,” he said. The CM directed the Panchayati Raj Dept to organize special Gram Sabhas to achieve the goals of Jal Jeevan Mission & Swachh Bharat Mission. The Chief Minister also requested the Union Jal Shakti Min to give concession to the funding pattern instead of 50:50 to 90:10 in the interest of Rajasthan, keeping in mind the scattered population in the desert districts of the state, long distance of populated areas from water source, high FHTC cost etc.

Sharma addressed the review meeting of Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission at the Chief Minister’s Office along with Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.

Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant directed the District Collectors to review progress of JJM on a weekly basis and the Divisional Commissioner on a fortnightly basis. He said that mission will be reviewed on a monthly level at the CS office level. Pant also directed to complete the process of pending tenders soon.
