Uproar during RU syndicate meeting

Jaipur: The Syndicate meeting in Rajasthan University lasted for about 3:30 hours and ended without any decision. There was more ruckus in the meeting. During this there were several clashes between the police and the students, even mild force was used by the police. About 10 proposals were mainly discussed in the Syndicate meeting that started at 11:00 am on Monday at the Rajasthan University. The atmosphere was also seen when there was a proposal to make 6 research associates professors, there was a fierce debate between registrar and 2 members. Not only this, all the DRs, including Rajasthan University’s registrar Nilima Takshak, left the meeting. The members of NSUI and ABVP gathered in large numbers outside the VC’s Secretariat for their demands. The contract workers and teachers of Rajasthan University also started shouting slogans for their demands. The clashes between ABVP and NSUI members also happened due to which a student was hurt. On behalf of the teachers, they were demanding the implementation of the new regulation of UGC 2018, while the contract workers were demanding increasing the honorarium.
