Foundation stone laying of IPD Tower and Institute of Cardiovascular Science to be built at ₹588 crore

Jaipur: Turning a new leaf in the annals of medical preparedness in Rajasthan, the third-time Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who has always had an eye on battering the health sector of the state, laid the foundation of IPD Tower and Institute of Cardiovascular Science to be built for Rs 588 crore in the premises of Sawai Man Singh Hospital on Tuesday.

“A new beginning has been made in the medical field in Rajasthan from today with the laying of the foundation stone of IPD Tower equipped with ultramodern medical facilities. The objective of the State Government is to carry the health services up to every village and hamlet.

The State Government will provide the Right to Health to all the people of the State by bringing a law in this regard soon,” Gehlot said while addressing a program after the stone laying ceremony.

He stressed that the State Government is working with full commitment to strengthen the infrastructure of health services in the State. “The health security of every family in the State has been ensured by providing cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh through Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana.

The families included in this scheme are also being given accidental insurance up to Rs 5 lakh. OPD and IPD services are being provided free of cost in all the Government Hospitals in the State from April 1.

The Central Govt, should also provide health services totally free in all the Govt Hospitals so that people could get social security.

The way Chiranjeevi Yojana has given insurance cover to the people of Rajasthan, on the same lines, there is a need for a similar scheme on national level,” Gehlot said and appealed to Dr. VK Paul in his address saying, “Talk to the PM about this. I myself will also write a letter to the PM on this issue”.
