‘Unaware’ IAS ‘Sir’ conned by 2 juniors, DoP suspends duo!
Jaipur: A shocking case of fake allotment of land worth crore of rupees have come to light in the Revenue department and two officials of the Secretariat Service - Girdhari Meena and Indravati - who were found involved in the matter, were suspended by DoP on Wednesday. The matter pertains to the time when IAS Mahaveer Prasad Meena was Joint Secretary in Revenue Department.
At that time, Girdhari Meena and Indravati were respectively of Group-8 and Group-10 Section Officers in the Revenue Department. Both the officials misused Mahaveer Prasad Meena’s digital signatures got sanction letters issued from the state government of allotment of agriculture land in Ajmer and Alwar. Based on the sanctions, the Collectors allotted lands worth crore of rupees.
Mahaveer Prasad Meena was transferred from the department in May 2023 and Girdhari Meena was transferred last month, but this fraud has come to light now. Actually the Collectors of Ajmer and Alwar suspected that the sanction letters of the State government were fake and both the Collectors alerted ACS Revenue - Aparna Arora - of the fraud. Aparna Arora then got an investigation done at her level which revealed that both the section officers misused the ID of Mahaveer Prasad Meena and issued several sanction letters using Meena’s digital signatures. In fact, Mahaveer Meena did not even come to know of these development which occurred right under his nose!
Word is that these junior officers were successful in misusing the digital signatures in the online system because they were the ones actually using the ID of their boss Mahaveer Prasad Meena.
Highly placed sources reveal that such fraud cases can come to light in several other districts as well!
