UDH principal secretary orders city-wide drainage master plan

Jaipur: Principal Secretary UDH T Ravikanth gave instructions to JDA officials in the review meeting held on Saturday to solve the problem of waterlogging during monsoon by preparing a drainage master plan of Jaipur city.

The JDA has been asked to issue tender for this soon and further work will be done as per the master plan. About 10 years ago, the JDA had made a drainage master plan but it was only for the core area of the city. This time the plan will be for the entire city.

The work of preparing the master plan will be entrusted to Rajasthan Urban Drinking Water Sewerage & Infrastructure Corporation Limited (RUDSICO). The existing sewerage network will be included in the sewerage master plan.

Under the Green Jaipur Campaign, 25 plant distribution centres have been set up by the JDA to make available two lakh trees of 10 feet height and 10 lakh other plants at concessional rates during the rainy season.
