Two suspected deaths due to heatwave in Raj

Jaipur: As Rajasthan endures hot summers, deaths due to suspected heatwave are being reported in the state even though the state government declares the deaths as per its protocol. An elderly resident, Bhanwar Singh, has succumbed to the severe heatwave in Rawatbhata on wednesday. Singh’s health deteriorated due to the extreme temperatures, marking the fifth such death in area.

In Manohar Thana, Jhalawar, a 1.5-yearold girl named Sandhya from Koli Mohalla passed away due to heatstroke. The intense heatwave on India-Pakistan border at Jaisalmer has caused health issues for two BSF personnel. Constable Aarti Thakur and S. Vishwas, fell ill due to heatstroke while on duty. They have been admitted to Jawahar Government Hospital for treatment.

In another development, the Medical Department has deputed officers in charge of all districts from the state level. Order were issued on the instructions of health minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar. All officers have been instructed to visit the allotted districts with immediate effect.
