Two chain snatchers arrested by cops

Jaipur: Commissioner of Police Biju George Joseph on Wednesday said that two chain snatchers were caught and 15 gold chains were recovered.

He said that a special team was formed taking serious note of chain snatching incidents in Jaipur which was supervised by Additional Commissioner of Police Kunwar Rashtradeep.

Pratap Nagar police station in-charge Munindra Singh conducted a raid and caught two chain snatchers Banshi Rajput aka Vijay Pratap Singh and Surendra aka Kalla residents of Rajakhera in Dholpur district.

The accused used to come from Rajakhera covering more than 250kms and after committing the crime, they went back on motorcycle. On seeing the police, they tried to run away on the bike, but both fell down and suffered fractures in hands and legs.

Police caught the accused persons after thorough checking of video footages of more than 200 CCTV cameras. Possibly this is the biggest recovery in chain snatching incidents.
