Jaipur: Governor Kalraj Mishra planted a camphor tree at Raj Bhavan on Thursday under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. On the initiative of the Governor, the officers and employees of Raj Bhavan also planted 50 neem saplings at Raj Bhavan under this campaign.
While planting the tree, the Governor said that this is a unique campaign started on the initiative of PM Modi. He appealed to the citizens to plant as many trees as possible under the campaign as well as to protect them.
The Governor said that trees are a unique gift given by nature to all of us. “Trees and plants are the adornment of the earth. Under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, we not only express our respect towards our mother by planting trees, it is also an indicator of our commitment towards Mother Earth,” he said and emphasized on covering the earth with greenery by planting trees to avoid the dangers of climate change and to protect the environment.
