Tree outside forest scheme gets good response
Jaipur: The Tree Outside Forest Scheme, that began from July 1 in Rajasthan, has received tremendous response within the first nine days and more than 3.33 lakhs plants are being distributed every day from the nurseries of the Forest Department.
In the first 9 days, more than 30 lakh plants were distributed. Officials informed that the maximum number of plants were distributed in Sikar. A target of planting five crore saplings has been set for the present financial year. Of these five crore saplings, one crore saplings will be planted on pasture land and other grazing fields.
ACS Shikhar Agarwal, PCCF HOFF Munish Garg, PCCF Administration Arijit Banerjee and PCCF Vikas Pawan Upadhyay are monitoring the progress of implementation of the scheme.
Under this scheme, Five Crore saplings will be planted outside forest areas. One crore saplings will be planted on pasture land and urban areas respectively. Remaining saplings will be given to people to be planted in their homes and fields.
