Top tax official, aide held taking Rs 6.10 lakh

Jaipur: An Assistant Commissioner of Commercial tax department along with her middleman was arrested for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 6.10 lakh from a firm owner in Jaipur.

The accused ACTO Priyanka Sharma, posted in Jaipur Zone-IV of the department had threatened firm owner to cease his office and demanded a bribe of Rs 28 lakh. The firm owner gave a complaint to anti-corruption bureau. After verification of the complaint, a trap was laid, accused ACTO along with middleman, her relative Vedprakash Sharma were arrested for taking bribe of Rs 6.10 lakh.
