Time-cycle: How Kunal still awaits ‘Achhe Din’ for himself!

Jaipur: IAS Krishna Kunal is awaiting ‘Achhe Din’ for himself since he has, allegedly, not been given due ‘importance’ in the current dispensation. As soon as the current government was formed, Kunal was shifted from Jaipur to Udaipur as Commissioner, Devsthan where he stayed for nearly a year, now, for the past nearly two and a half years, he is serving as Additional Chief Electoral Officer in Election Department in Jaipur, which is also considered a ‘cold posting’. Since there are no assembly or Lok Sabha elections in the state, hence Kunal does not have much work these days.

A 2003 batch IAS, Kunal has a good experience of working in the field. In the previous government of the BJP, Kunal was in ‘power’ for nearly two years when from 2014 to 2016 he served as Jaipur Collector and he used to be a ‘powerful centre’ in the state government. He used to spend less time in Collector office and more in CMO, however, time has taken a ‘U-Turn’ for Kunal.

Word in the bureaucracy is that he is not in ‘good terms’ with Congress party since while servingas Collector of Bharatpur district, he courted controversy in the Gopalgarh violence. The then Congress government removed him without delay and put him on APO, after which he stayed APO for several months. When he became Jaipur Collector, his old ‘enmity’ with Congress got renewed and thus his ‘Acche Din’ could never come.

Although the state government has reinstated all the officials with whom there was some ‘problem’ since the BJP government’s time, yet Kunal is left out. It was hoped that through the jumbo IAS transfer list released last months, Kunal would be ‘adjusted’, but the DoP, apparently, did not pay heed to him.
