Jaipur: UDH Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra, after the suspension of JMCH Mayor Munesh Gurjar on Monday, announced that the responsibility will be given to the Acting mayor by Tuesday. “The responsibility will be given to a BJP councillor. The acting mayor will start work the day after tomorrowDiscussion will be held for the appointment of the acting mayor with councilors, MLAs, MPs, and the BJP state president. The decision will be taken only after consulting everyone,” he said.
Three women councillors from BJP are the frontrunners for the post. The names of Kusum Yadav, Kapila Kumawat and Lalita Jaiswal are doing the rounds.
Kharra gave approval twice for her suspension. In an exclusive conversation with First India, Kharra said that Gurjar was given a notice on 18 September also. “Notice was given to get Munesh Gurjar’s clarification in the matter. DLB office was opened on 21 September to get Munesh Gurjar’s reply. But no reply was received from her. On the same day, two persons came to the DLB office on behalf of Munesh Gurjar who tried to prove this by making a video that the office was closed. After this, Munesh Gurjar sent a mail to DLB on 22 September alleging office closure. Another notice was given on 23 September to submit the reply,” he said. He said the department waited for her reply and decided on suspension only after giving her fair chance to present her side. Munesh Gurjar has been suspended for the third time. Earlier, she was suspended on August 5, 2023 but she got relief from the court and assumed the office again. But on September 26, 2023, the government again suspended her but she again got relief from the court.
Meanwhile, Congress councillors fed sweets to the minister at his residence after the suspension of Munesh Gurjar.
