The conundrum of T Ravikanth!
Jaipur: Senior IAS, T Ravikanth is in a conundrum. The then Principal Secretary of UDH, Kunji Lal Meena, had issued an order and handed over the responsibility of the investigation of the controversial Jodhpur land lease case to Ravikanth along with the instructions of submitting the report in 15 days.
Principal Secretary Medical Education, Ravikanth even started the investigation and undertook tour of Jodhpur as well. But a new development occurred that the DoP handed over the additional charge of UDH to Ravikanth! And as a result, Ravikant has become both the Judge and the Executionary, in a manner of saying, because now, it is his additional charge that gave the order and he himself has done the investigation.
Ravikanth’s conundrum is the ‘conflict of interest’ on keeping the said investigation open. If he continues with the investigation, then he will have to submit the said report to himself ! According to the administrative structure and working, this is neither practical, nor logical.
It is worth noting that in the Jodhpur lease case, Commissioner of Jodhpur Development Authority, RAS officer Navneet Kumar, was put on APO; While another RAS, Deputy Commissioner Rajendra Kumar has been suspended by the DoP and these posts are lying vacant till date.
