Temp drops to -1 Degree; State braces for a chilly winter

Jaipur: The weather in Rajasthan seems to be changing continuously. As December started, dark clouds appeared in the sky. With the clearance of clouds, freezing winter has now started in the state with the mercury in Mount Abu dropping by 3 degrees to -1. While snow accumulated on tree leaves, grasslands and flowers, dew drops on the roof and glass of vehicles turned into ice.

There was severe cold on Wednesday night in the border areas of Jaisalmer, Bikaner and Jodhpur. Meanwhile, minimum temperature also dropped by 2 to 3 degrees in Churu, Sriganganagar and Jaisalmer. The Meteorological Department predicts clear weather in the state for the next few days. The effect of cold winds coming from the northwest is likely to increase the cold.

Compared to Tuesday, there was a decline of 3 degrees in the Mount Abu area. While the temperature reached the below-freezing point for the first time this season, Citizens throughout the state are trying to ward off cold with the help of bonfires. Cyclonic storm MICHAUNG will not have any impact in Rajasthan. The weather will remain mainly dry for the next one week in most parts of the state.
