TAKE EFFECTIVE ACTION AGAINST ORGANISED CORRUPTION: CM TO ACB

  • CM directs ACB to not delay cases pending for prosecution sanction and work with policy of zero tolerance towards corruption
  • Disposal of pending cases is being done in time bound manner, said DG ACB BL Soni

Jaipur: Acting on the policy of zero tolerance for corruption, the state government gave prosecution sanctions in 90 percent of cases of corruption in the year 2021, which shows the commitment of the state government against corruption, said Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday while chairing a review meeting of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB).

Gehlot said that sensitive, transparent, and accountable good governance is the basic mantra of the government, and directed the ACB to work proactively with a policy of zero tolerance towards corruption.

The CM directed officials that the cases which are pending for prosecution sanction should not be delayed further and decisions should be taken on a priority basis.

He also directed to take effective action against organised corruption. It was informed in the meeting that the action of 430 traps took place in the year 2021 to nab corrupt personnel red-handed while taking bribes, which is the highest number of traps ever since the bureau was founded.

The CM also talked to the officials about their experiences and listened to their suggestions for the betterment of the department.

Gehlot appreciated the ACB’s initiative of ‘Sajag Gram Yojana’ and said that it can also play an important role in curbing corruption in public welfare schemes in rural areas.

On the 1064 helpline of the ACB, the chief minister said that it has helped people in reaching out to the bureau and it should be further strengthened.

DG ACB BL Soni said that timebound disposal of pending cases is being done. ACB has got 239 officers and jawans, due to which investigation work has accelerated.
