T-58, Tiger ‘Rocky’ died of cardiac arrest

Jaipur/Sawai Madhopur: The postmortem report of tiger T-58 Rocky by the medical board on Monday revealed that it died of cardiac arrest. A large amount of fat was found in the tiger’s heart. Hunting for prey puts a lot of strain on the heart and this could possibly be the reason for the tiger’s death.

The tiger’s blood samples were sent to IVRI Bareilly and Forensic Laboratory Bharatpur. Field Director Anoop KR, District Administration, NTCA and WII representatives were present during the post-mortem.

Tiger T-58 died in Ranthambore on Sunday. DFO Manas Singh said that the possibility of death is due to heart attack. The tiger’s last rites were performed at the city’s Rajbagh Naka in the presence of the administration.
