Suman, Siddhi & Pearl get Sundar Kanti Joshi Award
Jaipur: Rajasthan Ranji team all-rounder Suman Meena and junior cricketer Siddhi Sharma were awarded the Sundar Kanti Joshi Awards in the senior and junior categories respectively at a function held here on Monday. The award, first introduced in the subjunior category, was presented to budding player Pearl Banawat.
PHED Minister Dr. Mahesh Joshi, Vice President of Rajasthan Cricket Association Shakti Singh Rathore, former RCA Secretary Subhash Joshi & International Squash player Surbhi Mishra presented the awards on the occasion of Sundar Kanti Joshi’s birthday.
In the beginning of the program, tributes were paid to former international cricketer Salim Durrani, Arun Garg, and Bhavani Samota’s father Heera Singh Samota.
In the senior category, awardee Suman Meena scored a total of 250 runs and took 26 wickets in BCCI tournaments this year, while in the junior category, Siddhi Sharma scored a total of 102 runs and 19 wickets in the Board’s Under-19 ODI and T20 tournaments. In the sub-junior category, Pearl Banawat bagged the award with the best performance of 13 wickets.
BCCI panel scorer OP Sharma of Rajasthan Cricket Association was honored with the Life Time Achievement Award for his services to cricket at the event.
