Sudhansh Pant will be the new CS

Jaipur: After the formation of the new government, now it is the turn of Rajasthan’s bureaucracy to get a new head.

Names of half a dozen senior IAS officers were in the race for the new Chief Secretary. The Centre, however, ended suspense late Saturday by issuing order of repatriation of 1991 batch IAS Sudhansh Pant to Rajasthan

“The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved repatriation of Shri Sudhansh Pant, IAS (RJ:91), Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to his parent cadre on the request of Government of Rajasthan,” read the order.

The official sources said that the order to appoint him the new Chief Secretary of Rajasthan were likely to be released late Saturday night.

The tenure of current Chief Secretary Usha Sharma is to end on December 31. On Saturday, a day before her retirement, Usha Sharma, as Chief Secretary, completed an important program like expansion of the State Council of Ministers.

Earlier, the names of senior IAS V Srinivasan, Rohit Kumar Singh, Sanjay Malhotra, Shubhra Singh and Rajeshwar Singh were also doing the rounds for the post.
