Students get relief with One-time registration fee for all competitive exams in Rajasthan

Jaipur: In a major relief to the aspiring candidates appearing for competitive examinations in Rajasthan, the State government has announced a one-time registration fee system. As per the new system, applicants will not have to pay the application fee repeatedly for various competitive examinations conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission and the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the administrative circular, which fixes a one-time registration fee of Rs 600 for general category and Other Backward Classes (creamy layer category) applicants and Rs 400 for the remaining categories. The new system is estimated to put a financial burden of about Rs 200 Crore on the State government. The move comes after announcement made by Chief Minister in the budget of the year 2023-24 to make all recruitment examinations conducted by the State free after one-time registration. The previous fee structure of RPSC and RSSB examinations varied according to the applicant’s category and income. This step is expected to bring relief to thousands of aspirants who had to bear the financial burden of application fees for every competitive examination.
