Statewide Jal Mahotsav held at 350 dams on Jal Jhulni Ekadashi

Jaipur: This year the impact of monsoon on the state dams led to the first ever statewide Jal Mahotsav. Rajasthan celebrated the festival of over 350 overflowing dams on Jal Jhulni Ekadashi.

Water Resources minister, Suresh Rawat participated in a Kalash yatra, oath ceremony and tree plantation at the Nevta Dam. More than 6 lakh people participated in Jal Mahotsav and for the first time, lakhs of people took a pledge to save water on the dam embankments.

During Jal MahotsavIn Ajmer, Assembly speaker Vasudev Devnani celebrated at Foy Sagar lake, while Forest and Environment Minister Sanjay Sharma performed rituals at Siliserh lake of Alwar.
