State’s aircraft purchase plan in limbo

Jaipur: Amid the need for frequent visits in election year, State Govt plans to purchase new Govt aircraft and helicopters is going on hold. After presentation of companies regarding this, due to the time taken in the entire process, this plan is not expected to be realised. In such a situation, govt may have to operate only on rented aircraft during election tours. The Civil Aviation Dept made a plan to buy a Government helicopter and an aircraft in view of extravagant government programs and visits in election year by other ministers including CM Gehlot. Especially while going on any tour of Guv, 12-seater aircraft have been demanded as per requirement of staff. The need for a 10-seater helicopter is being felt since last elections.
