State govt terminates services of AAG Yadav for failure in HC

Jaipur: The state government on Friday terminated services of Additional Advocate General Rajendra Yadav for failure to effectively represent the 2008 Jaipur serial blast case in the Rajasthan High Court. The government will file a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court against the acquitted accused in the case. This decision was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by CM Ashok Gehlot at CMR on Friday.

Gehlot said that the HC has acquitted all the accused, overturning the 2019 district court verdict. “It is the intention of the State Government that the culprits should be given the harshest punishment, therefore the State Government will soon file a SLP in the Supreme Court against the decision of the High Court,” he said.

Chief Secretary Usha Sharma, Principal Government Secretary Home Anand Kumar, DGP Umesh Mishra, ADG SOG-ATS Ashok Rathore, ADG Crime Dinesh MN, ADG Intelligence S. Sengthir, Principal Government Secretary Law Gyan Prakash Gupta and Secretary Home Law Ravi Sharma were present in the meeting.

On Wednesday, HC acquitted them on grounds that the investigating agency (ATS) did a “shoddy investigation”.
