State Budget: Govt presents big surprises in compact package

Jaipur: The first ‘Mini Budget’ i.e. the Vote on Account of Bhajan Lal govt was presented in the Assembly on Thursday. It is ‘Mini budget’ because the economic account presented is much ahead of the Vote on Account. Or we can say that CM Sharma gave big gifts to the public in small packets. The Vote on Account definitely bears the imprint of PM Modi’s vision.

Along with the ideological touch, there was equal inclusion of both governance and public concerns. Dy CM DiyaKumari, in the four months of Vote on Account as Finance Minister, drew such an outline of the priorities and resolutions of govt that even the Opposition was seen saying that this is not a Vote on Account, it is a budget.

The State Govt focused on four ‘castes’ or ‘categories’ coined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Along with providing employment to youth, Diya also worked to take them into confidence. Bhajan Lal’s ideological strength was also evident in Vote on Account. Many types of innovations were also announced. In a first, a separate team has been formed to give suggestions regarding the economic situation.

As the Finance Minister, Diya Kumari led the Vote on Account preparations, while effectively presenting the State Government’s vision.
