State Assembly to resume with no LoP and Chief Whip today

Jaipur: After a break of about 1 week, the Assembly proceedings will resume from Tueday. But in the midst of all this, a big question remains about the appointment of the Leader of the Opposition, the Chief Whip and the Dy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.

LoP Gulab Chand Kataria resigned after he became Governor of Assam while Chief Whip Mahesh Joshi resigned from the post. The post of Dy Speaker is continuously lying vacant since the formation of the govt. Now the exercise to fill all these three posts is going on. It has been discussed that the BJP may give the responsibility of LoP to Dy LoP Rajendra Rathore. However, in this list, there is some possibility of some other senior MLA getting a chance. For Chief Whip, there is a strong possibility that Dy Chief Whip Mahendra Choudhary will be promoted. For Dy Speaker of the Assembly names of Rajendra Pareek and Dr Jitendra Singh are doing the rounds.

Question Hour will begin at 11 am. There will be condolence on the death of former MLA Harish Kumawat and notification of Agriculture Marketing Dept will be laid on the table of the House. UDH Min Shanti Dhariwal will keep annual report and accounts and separate reports of CAG will be placed on the table of the House.
