Jaipur: In good news for nearly 3 lakh state government employees, the state government has made amendments to services rules for implementing the old pension scheme announced by CM Ashok Gehlot in state budget.

The employees appointed on or after 1 January 2004 will get the benefit of the OPS. The finance department has issued notifications for amendments in service rules. Earlier, there was politics about the Rs 39,000 crore deposited in the NPS fund. One section of employees was apprehensive about the scheme’s implementation, but the CM is determined to fulfill the announcement and therefore the notifications were issued.

The government has decided to implement the scheme despite Centre’s refusal to give NPS fund. Government employees appointed on or after January 1, 2004 will now be able to take pension benefits after retirement. Also, those who have exited their service before 31 March 2022 will also get pension benefits according to the same rules from April 2022.
