Sincere & result-oriented Nina Singh gets her due, becomes DG-CISF!

Jaipur: Appointment of IPS Nina Singh to the post of DG-CISF is an honourable aspect for Rajasthan. Singh has reached this high post owing to her sheer hard work and ability. Actually, with the change of government in Rajasthan, it was speculated that if current DGP Umesh Mishra is shifted, then Nina Singh could lead the state police force. Since she has both aspects, seniority and a female officer, working in her favour, hence, it was considered probable that she would be considered for the position.

But when on Thursday, the Central Government appointed her to the post of DG-CISF, then all speculations came to an end. As such there are only seven months left to Nina Singh’s retirement.

Since she came to Rajasthan in 1992, after changing cadre from Manipur, she has always left a mark with her sincerity, hard work and work ethics. Her image is that of a firebrand police officer, who has handled and solved several high-profile cases. She has served in CBI for six years and during this time, she handled the most talked about cases of the nation - Jiah Khan suicide, Bombay Blast, Sheena Bora murder case, PNB Scam, Neerav Modi fraud case and others. She has been honoured with several awards, including the ‘President Medal.’

Owing to her marriage with IAS Rohit Kumar Singh (1989 batch) of Rajasthan cadre, she got her Manipur cadre changed to Rajasthan cadre. Rohit Kumar Singh is currently serving as Secretary in Government of India’s Department of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. He is slated to retire in March 2024, four months prior to his wife’s retirement. During Covid, the reins of Medical and Health Department was in Rohit Kumar Singh’s hands and to bring the state out of this difficult period, Singh toiled day and night without taking rest.

His commitment and hard work during those trying times, was lauded by everyone.
