Selective action on bars raises questions on Jaipur police!

Jaipur: Selective action on night clubs in Jaipur on Saturday night instead of blanket action has brought disappointment from the new Commissioner of Jaipur Police Biju George Joseph.

The Jaipur Police took action on five small clubs just for formality but there was no action on big clubs which run from 10 pm till 5-6 am, because the owners of such clubs are influential.

Police did formality by taking action on Tronn Cafe, Rebellion Cafe, Brewicious Cafe and HobNob Restaurant. Because of the clout of the big clubs, no one dares to lay hands on them.

Night club culture is fast spreading in Jaipur which is emerging as the night club destination in the country after Mumbai and Bengaluru, which has raised concern of many citizens.

At present, about two dozen big night clubs are running in Jaipur till morning like this.
Many eminent people of the city are also opening night clubs by investing Rs 20-25 crore.

Although going to night club and returning at 12 midnight is not a bad thing but the clubs running till 5-6 in the morning, is not sign of a civilized civil society.

Mostly college going youths go to these clubs and spend the entire night and not able to focus on studies. Some concerned people have also apprised the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot about the mushrooming nightclubs, but no effective action is taken despite CM’s directions to ensure that clubs are closed by 12 am. Question marks are now being raised on this attitude of Jaipur Police?
