Sariska to have sloth bears soon

Jaipur: Now, people will be able to see sloth bears in Sariska as the forest department has completed preparation for its translocation.

A pair of sloth bears will be translocated as soon as the radio collar is received. A proposal to bring two pairs from Sundha Mata area has been approved.

In the first phase, one pair will be translocated and in the second phase, another.
With the efforts of CCF RN Meena, the proposal was approved. PCCF and Chief Wildlife Warden Arindam Tomar also played an important role. Forest and wildlife protection has strengthened in Tomar’s tenure. Sloth bears were there in Sariska earlier but they vanished over a decade ago.
