Sandeep Choudhary: An emerging kissan leader

Jaipur: Politics is a field which attracts hordes of people towards it as it brings a person in 'limelight' i.e. in clear focus of people. While this is one of the most attractive aspects of politics, however, what people do not realise is that political parties, whose ladder an individual climbs to reach that 'centrestage', become powerful due to the dedicated workers, who work tirelessly behind the curtains and away from the 'limelight' so that the party and the projected leader, thrives.

And one such low profile, hard working and silent performer is Congress's Sandeep Choudhary, a farmer leader, who for the past three decades, has been the unrelenting soldier for the Grand-Old-Party. Choudhary hails from the Jat community and farming runs in his blood. Through the years, his hard work and zeal to reach the 'last link' has ensured that he has a good grasp on the grass roots level.

Choudhary's connect with Congress started in 1991 and witnessing his abilities, he was soon appointed as NSUI's Block President for Kotputli in 1993. While he contested several college elections through 1995-96, he was simultaneously given higher positions in the NSUI. In 97-98, he was elected President of Rajasthan University Law College.

By 2003, he graduated into the Youth Congress and in 2007, he was appointed the VicePresident of Kissan Congress to President of Kissan Congress in 2012, a position he has held continuously since.

But perhaps his biggest distinction is his appointment as AICC Spokesperson, a position which he has been continuing on since March 2015 till date and is currently also the working President of District Congress Committee, Jaipur Rural.

At a time, when youth is getting attracted towards politics only due to the spotlight it provides, Choudhary is an exception, for, he took the 'old road' of doing away with the limelight, and making a difference for the party, on the ground level.
