Samit allowed to return to quench people’s thirst in summers!
Jaipur: IAS Samit Sharma has been recalled from election duty as he was appointed as observer in Chhattisgarh’s Mahasamund LS constituency. The State govt had requested the Election Commission to recall Samit Sharma owing to the approaching summer months and the problem of drinking water availability in the state.
According to sources, keeping in view the seriousness of the matter, the Election Commission permitted Samit to return to state, even though Samit had reached Mahasamund only two days ago. Generally, the Election Commission does not change any officer and in Samit’s case, this change has occurred after the duty allotment which in itself is an uncommon development.
In place of Samit, now Anil Agrawal has been sent to Mahasamund. After Samit left, the DoP handed over the additional charge of Samit’s post to ACS Abhay Kumar, but now, from today onwards, Samit will continue to carry out his responsibilities as Principal Secretary, PHED.
