Sahoo appointed Raj DGP for 2-year tenure
Jaipur: The DoP on Saturday issued an order for the appointment of senior IPS officer Utkal Ranjan Sahoo as the DGP of Rajasthan for a period of 2 years or until further orders. Sahoo was given additional charge of this post after Umesh Mishra took voluntary retirement on December 29. Sahoo is the IPS officer of 1988 batch. Sahoo’s potential for DGP was evident from his successful coordination of DGs and IGs conference in Jaipur, attended by Modi and Shah. On Friday, CS Sudhansh Pant had gone to Delhi for a meeting, after a green signal from UPSC, the govt appointed Sahoo as DGP. CM Bhajan Lal Sharma has congratulated Sahoo for the new responsibility.
