RU cancels syndicate meet as officials arrive sans ‘agenda’

Jaipur: Suggesting lack of preparedness, a syndicate meeting of the Rajasthan University was cancelled on Thursday. All the syndicate members reached for the meeting, but the FA refused to come citing that the agenda was not ready. MLAs Amin Kagzi and Gopal Meena became furious and lashed out at the Vice-Chancellor of Rajasthan University Rajeev Jain.

About 20 agendas were included in the meeting. If sources are to be believed, all these agendas were prepared by Jain. Rajasthan University Registrar Nilima Takshak after her throat operation is on leave and the registrar’s charge is with the FA. According to sources, on Wednesday, the ViceChancellor called the FA and had informed him about the meeting.

The contract workers, who have been boycotting work for the last two days, were shocked because a discussion on the demands of the contract workers was to be done during the meeting. Besides, the issue of seniority of about 400 teachers of Rajasthan University was also to be discussed.
